The Tarboche Memorial Park contains a 30 foot flagpole, which isa
smaller version of the great 80 foot pole at Tarboche in Tibet
at the foot of Mt. Kailash. The
mountainis a major pilgrimagedestination in south Asia, as it is considered
by Buddhists, Hindus, Bons, and Jainsto be the symbolic axis
of the universe.
The pathway that encircles the flagpoleat theMemorial Park isa
modest outdoor museum, containing signs describing some of the
tragedies that have befallen
Tibetans following the occupation of their county by the Chinese.
Tarboche means “Place of Prayer Flags”. When the many flags of
the park flutter in the wind, prayers for thepeace andwell-being of all peoples
are
sent heavenward.
On the full moon of May-June the pole is taken down, and old flags are
replaced with new ones. This year, the raising of the new center pole will
occur at

potluck lunch
afterwards.

I
Am Harmony
P. O. Box 291, Crestone, CO 81131
719.256.4810 - www.crestonekiara.com
I am Harmony was created in 1996 by Kiara Perkins on the corner
of Camino Baca Grande and Chaparral Way with the express purpose
of creating sacred
space
to share the beauty of the Crestone landscape.
With her belief that through meditation people may heal themselves and
in turn heal the Planet, she created an area with several earth-oriented
mediative
tools based on ancient practices dedicated to providing a space for people
to experience
meditation. The various meditative sacred spaces include the 32 foot
Cretan Labyrinth , a Healing Circle, the No Time Zone, The Pyramid ,
the Three-Fold
Flame, and
The Circle of Oneness representing the energy of We Are all ONE.
With respect to the Native American traditions, there is a Sweat Lodge
and Medicine Wheel. There are also special areas dedicated to the Fairies
and
Devas, Creativity,
I Am Presence and the Bed of Heaven where a straw-filled space invites
one to lie down and look up at the heavens enjoying the peace and harmony
of
nature.
The sacred spaces will assist in acknowledging that you are sacred and
all of life is sacred. Kiara offers the experience of walking on sacred
ground
with
each step being one of love and respect.
The Golden Harmony Healing Center offers presentations. Please call for
a schedule of events.
Pundarika
Foundation
297 El Camino Real, PMB #118
San Bruno, CA 94066
415.454.1128 - www.home.att.net/~pundarika
The Pundarika Foundation was founded to preserve and support the
lineage teachings of the Drukpa Kagyu tradition. “Pundarika” represented by the emblem
of three lotus blossoms, refers to the continual activity of the Buddhas for
the benefit of all. Both the name and the emblem signify the three means of
Buddha activity through body, speech and mind.
Venerable Tsoknyi Rinpoche bases his teachings on the prayer that the
precious Buddhadharma will bring peace and harmony to the world. Rinpoche
has been
active in preserving the Drukpa Kagyu tradition which were destroyed
and scattered
after 1959 when the Tibetans were forced to flee their homeland. His
intent is to assure
the growth of the Buddhadharma and to share his vision of replacing
ignorance and suffering with true understanding and contentment for
all.
The Crestone Retreat Land Project encompasses 60 acres which will become
the seat of reflection and meditation available to Tsoknyi Rinpoche
and his students.
The project is under construction
and
is not open to the public.
